I often sit and watch the sun as it slowly sinks towards the sea, the shimmers light glistening on the gently folding waves.
This painting is the result of a series of studies of bothe the sea and the two children as they play.
The many studies I have worked on helper to build the composition with its delicate tones in the contre-jour.
Of course the beach is on the other side of the wide bay from my studio. Here I would be more likely to catch the morning sun as it rises!
