This is, once again, the stretch of water I love so much and keep returning to.
This time I was looking to make greater nuance in the tonal range by using juxtaposed colours in the blues and greens, blended with the mystery of magenta.
The sky is laden yet simple, the water flat, sand poking through. One could almost hear the gurgles of the shellfish.
And the children explore.
This time I used predominantly acrylic. I work quickly before the acrylic dries to creat a series of layers that blend together.
Then work again building a deapth and tonal range that shimmers.
By working in this way I avaid the one failing of acrylic, the change of tones when drying.
In some ways the scene is almost abstract, and the title reflects this curious feeling.
